THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Position Scope and Focus:
Develop, debug and deploy new features and improvements to a complex Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This position will also help plan and execute the development of projects to support all aspects of operations of a clinical laboratory dedicated to personalized cancer therapy. Focus is on customer support, ongoing and continued improvements to LIMS/IT infrastructure as a whole.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Configuration and customization of an off the shelf laboratory information management system (StarLIMS).
Modification and maintenance of proprietary Java/Struts based web applications.
Data reporting and updates using SQL and PL-SQL on Oracle 10g and 11i databases.
Manual software testing and writing automated test cases.
Creation of application requirement and design documentation.
Adherence to development process and procedures.
Tracing reported errors through code.
Learn and support third party applications that are in use across the company.
Occasional night and weekend support.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Bachelor?s or associate?s degree with a major in biomedical engineering, computer science, engineering, information science or related discipline
Entry to mid level position
Course work or 1-2 years experience developing applications
Understanding of relational databases
Knowledge of data reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports
Mastery of object oriented design principles and object oriented languages
Understanding of enterprise software engineering concerns such as concurrency, persistence, performance, scalability, etc.
Proficiency writing SQL queries and updates
Excellent organization skills
Ability to independently prioritize tasks and work efficiently
Ability to work independently or in small teams
Demonstrated ability to write documentation for a technical audience
Well developed and effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts with non-technical end users
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
