The Solutions Engineer will work as a team player in the Enterprise Sales organization to drive revenue in their respective territory or vertical market. They work in conjunction with the extended sales team, acting as the key technical advisor and product advocate for the Company and its product offering. They will do this by teaming with their assigned Inside and Field Account Executives on account strategy and sales execution. This will take the form of on-site sales calls, web based meetings, RFP responses, management of software trials, social software consulting, and trade show attendance. They must also help to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong desire to succeed, the ability to speak the language of a ?C? level executive/LOB manager/System Administrator/SharePoint Architect all in the same meeting. This person must be able to operate with minimal supervision, and at the same time, be a team player within the sales organization and throughout the company. Strong writing, communications and interpersonal skills are mandatory. This position will be located in the Denver HQ office or remotely and will require 50 ? 75% travel throughout your territory and occasionally the rest of North America.
Communicating the value of our technology to prospective clients through conversations and demonstrations
Creating and managing Hosted Software Trials
Be an expert in the features and benefits of our applications
Speaking at trade shows, User Groups, and various sized customer meetings
Travel 50-75% of the time
Creating Documentation as required
Creating new processes within a growing Solutions Engineering team
Prioritizing a complicated set of tasks for multiple constituents
Learning new products and concepts as they are developed within the industry and our rapid development processes
Providing Social Computing consulting services during pilots
Adding value with your Subject Matter Expertise on Social Computing
Using Social Media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn Etc.
Working closely with the Inside Sales team to provide technical sales support for assigned territory
Supporting NewsGator Partners including Microsoft and integration partners
Responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs / RFPs
Developing and delivering product demonstrations
Acting as the customer advocate and liaison to Product Management, Marketing and Engineering teams
Attending conferences, seminars and other industry events
Delivering web based training sessions to clients
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success working in an organization selling enterprise software to large organizations. They must understand complex sales with a two track sales process, selling to both the business and technical sides, and utilizing a team selling model. They must also demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where there are high performance expectations and a need to be self-sufficient. Five years or more of major account sales engineering experience preferred as well as 10 years work experience.
Public speaking skills are mandatory
Must be a ?roll-up-the-sleeves, do what it takes to get the job done,? individual with a burning desire, tenacity, and aptitude for the job
Self-starter who also demonstrates strong multitasking capabilities
Superb interpersonal skills and proven ability to foster a positive team-oriented working environment
Ability to perform well in an autonomous environment as this position is possibly remote from corporate HQ
Success working for an early or growth stage company
Exposure to or understanding of social networking solutions; Desired technology sales experience includes portals, enterprise content management, search and/or social solutions
College degree required, business or technical degree preferred
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
Microsoft SharePoint Certifications preferred or two years of experience working with Microsoft SharePoint 2010
Ability to install, configure, and maintain SharePoint 2010
Working knowledge of current versions of SQL Server and Windows Server
Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, SMTP, and DHCP technologies
Working knowledge of Microsoft IIS
Ability to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical issues
Ability to have a technical specialty in SharePoint; i.e. Branding, Search, BI, ECM, Governance, etc
