Accountable and reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Program Manager acts as the primary interface between the engineering design team, product management, Operations, Corporate Quality, and our manufacturing partners (Component Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers) to ensure predictable engineering schedules and traceability of product performance to requirements:
? Coordinates schedule assignments with various supporting personnel (design engineering, buyer, planner, Mfg Engr, CM)
? Reports on schedule and issues at weekly Project team and Functional (Ops/NPI) team meetings
? Identifies, develops, prioritizes and assists with risk avoidance solutions.
? Execute smooth transitions of engineering prototypes to production as necessary.
? Maintains traceability between product requirements (MRD), engineering design activities, and performance testing
? Maintain full ownership of complete introduction schedule for each assigned product.
? Organize and document workflows, develop and manage cross-functional and external relationships, professionally and diligently identify and close or escalate all issues to ensure success.
? Maintain frequent regular communication with all stakeholders to ensure no surprises.
? Develop and maintain metrics which measure performance of the product development process and participate in corrective action and continual improvement efforts to increase process effectiveness.
Experience and Skills:
AS or BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
o Minimum 10 years experience in commercial product development industry.
o Minimum 5 years in program management or similar role in manufacturing operations including direct experience working with both engineering and cross-functionally.
o Hands-on experience with Product Data Management software such as Agile or Arena.
o Hands-on experience with project management software and techniques.
o Hands-on detail oriented professional with strong multi-tasking skills and ability to meet challenging schedules.
o Willingness to travel overseas up to 4 weeks per year
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to keep track of, clarify, reiterate, escalate if needed, and ensure closure of complex and challenging issues.
