Join a growing, innovative healthcare diagnostics leader! We have an opportunity for a Senior Marketing Manager in our Molecular business unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular diagnostics and a strong understanding of the market for these healthcare products. This position is responsible for understanding and analyzing the global molecular market as well as developing and executing specific strategic and tactical plans to ensure Quidel?s leadership in the molecular diagnostic marketplace. Defines and develops the commercial strategy and direction of the molecular diagnostic business unit to efficiently and effectively commercialize and launch molecular diagnostics products, including new assays and platforms while meeting global financial plans. As a senior member of the molecular team, this individual will additionally be responsible for both downstream and upstream market analysis, including the development of comprehensive development requirements (e.g. PDR specifications), marketing plans, business case development, and launch plans. Monitors post launch activities for molecular products.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree required, preferably in Biology/Science/Business or related field; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum of 8 years? experience in diagnostics industry with a strong preference for 2-3 years? experience in sales, product or marketing management
Experience in new product development and product launches highly desired.
Experience in sales or marketing of molecular diagnostics strongly preferred.
Excellent team leadership, program/project management, analytical and organizational skills
Outstanding written and presentation skills with ability to communicate to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills, both within the organization and outside of the corporate environment.
Excellent matrix management skills and ability to motivate cross-functional teams
Experience in identifying marketing and demand creation opportunities and executing to those opportunities
Strong understanding of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market, Molecular diagnostics, point of care testing, and/or IVD-based instrument commercialization desired.
Understanding of market research methods and when and how to execute primary and secondary market research, including VOC (voice of customer)
Understanding of financial analysis (costing, gross and operating margin calculation, ROI, etc.)
Experience in cultivating Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships and comprehensively managing advisory panels and scientific education initiatives in concert with Clinical/Regulatory Affairs
Ability to think strategically and bring a high level of creativity to the organization
Flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment to work with others in a professional and effective way
Some travel ? both domestic and international ? required for meetings, market research, and trade shows. Could be up to 50% at times. Flexible work hours needed to meet project deadlines.
