Sr. Scientist - Formulation AgraQuest

Located in the Davis, CA. facility, the primary responsibility of the Sr. Scientist is to support the Process
Development group working on the development of microbial biopesticides and biochemical
formulations. This role will design and perform a wide range of formulation and downstream process
experiments in support of new lead discovery, pipeline development and formulation.
The incumbent will:
? Design and execute microbial product formulation projects and experiments to meet the needs in
research & development, new product development, and product improvement.
? Provide scientific and technological leadership in the development of practical and cost?effective
downstream processes and formulations that enable the commercialization of new microbial
? Evaluate technological feasibilities and cost targets for new projects and products, and provide
guidance to project technical lead and project manager on options, timeline, and formulation
Desired Skills & Experience
The selected candidate is required to possess the following:
? Ph.D. with 2?6 years of industrial experience in formulation for agricultural applications
? Experience in microbial product formulation.
? Demonstrated track record in successful development of formulation processes such as; spray
drying, freeze drying, granulation, or micro emulsions.
? Extensive knowledge and hands?on experience in various formulation processes from laboratory to
? In?depth knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental design.
? Working knowledge and experience in developing and drafting technical documentations for
? Working knowledge and experience in the application and delivery systems for microbial products in
? Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple projects.
? Ability to analyze and interpret business and scientific periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures and government regulations.
? Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, as well as effectively
present the information and respond to questions.? Incorporates new relevant scientific literature information into the planning process for the assigned
? Presents data and reports on project status at individual, group & departmental research meetings.
Salary and Grade Level will be commensurate with experience and/or education level.
