We are seeking a Senior Statistical Programmer (SSP) for our Cambridge, MA office. The SSP will provide leadership and technical expertise to the coordinating center for analysis of electronic medical record and claims data for an emerging research network. The SSP will lead development of programs for analysis of EMR and claims data to meet project specific objectives and work with epidemiologist and biostatistician team members to develop and implement standards for programming and analytic dataset specification for projects conducted within the network. The SSP will be responsible for communicating with programming and informatics staff at participating network data providers to address questions and provide consultation on requirements for programming and data extraction for network studies.
? Program, plan and co-ordinate: (i) the programming, testing, and documentation of statistical programs and analysis databases for analysis of EMR and claims data from multiple network data providers to meet specific research study objectives, and (ii) the programming of database quality control checks.
? Develop standard and modular programs to be used in analysis of network claims and EMR data, in collaboration with epidemiologist and biostatistician team members.
?Program the integration of databases from multiple studies or sources where needed
? Develop and plan programming documentation including plans and specifications, as appropriate.
? Provide guidance and direction to other members of internal and external statistical programming team for analysis of research network data, and propose appropriate risk-based QC strategies to ensure accuracy of statistical programming.
?Independently bring project solutions to the Outcome Biostatistics and Statistical Programming department.
? Perform and plan the development, implementation and validation of new process technologies, macros and applications.
? Masters degree or educational equivalent in statistics or related field and at least 5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
? Prior experience analyzing administrative claims and/or electronic health record data for use in health research studies. CRO experience preferred but not required.
? Knowledge of statistical computing applications such as Base SAS, SAS/STAT and SAS Macro Language
? Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills,?multi-tasking abilities, and attention to detail.
