The SWAT Team Phlebotomist will be responsible for training on the job and evaluation of new phlebotomists. They will ensure that all Company Phlebotomy procedures are established and followed in the new labs and each operational opportunity they are assigned. Also assist the SWAT Team Manager in transitioning from Deployment to SWAT Status to normal operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing a chain of command between the SWAT TEAM Manager and Phlebotomists to ensure the following are completed:
1.Coach and lead team members in all areas of phlebotomy.
2.Assist in the interviewing of potential new phlebotomists.
3.Develop and Review weekly schedules to ensure coverage and to monitor overtime.
4.Demonstrate knowledge in team collaboration, and ability to communicate with all levels of contacts.
5. Establish a flow of open communication and proactive management with all areas of the operations team. .
6.Ensure all employees know how to properly handle specimens, how to complete and submit all required documentation.
7.Follow project plan details, timelines for effective execution.
8.Train Phlebotomists in areas that need improvement.
9.Make sure Phlebotomists are properly following company procedures and policies.
9.Make sure teams are furnished with proper supplies and forms.
10.Other duties as assigned.
They are responsible for directing phlebotomists to ensure that all facilities and draws are acquired properly and timely.
Assure project goals and time lines are met.
Assist the SWAT TEAM Manager with quality, cost effectiveness, and compliance to MEDLAB procedures and regulatory agency requirements for all MEDLAB clients.
Perform Quality Checks on all new LTCs as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have at minimum: High School Diploma; a Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
> Minimum two years clinical phlebotomy experience as a Phlebotomist for MEDLAB; minimum one year nursing facility draws preferred. Participates in continuing education and competency testing programs to ensure that laboratory and professional standards are met.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must maintain a valid driver?s license. Phlebotomy Certification is preferred.
- Ability to speak so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation, both in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to interact and communicate and provide feedback at a high level with senior team members.
- High ability to communicate, written and verbally, with all levels of the organization
> Ability to create and present presentations to small and large groups
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Ability to budget and forecast costs effectively
- Understanding of P/L Statements
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Products especially Microsoft Excel
> Ability to quickly learn proprietary software programs
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: High level of travel, must be willing to be at location for multiple weeks at a time without returning home. 70% overnight travel.
