Stratus is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager physically located in Phoenix, AZ, to lead a technical team to deliver high quality technical solutions. You will be responsible for the design, development, deployment and maintenance of innovative solutions using the latest tools and technologies. The Technical Delivery Manager will work closely with Project Management and will have overall responsibility for the technical deliverables and profitability of assigned projects.
Lead and mentor technical team to ensure delivery of high quality client solutions within committed timeframes. Continually review the output of the team, measuring quality and identifying solutions to process deficiencies.
Complete resource planning, staffing and management for client engagements to ensure profitable and successful engagement completion.
Provide hands-on technical support to the project team where necessary. Target 25% of time billable.
Work with technical team to accurately scope technical components of solutions. Work with PMO to respond to proposals, prepare Statements of Work, advise on project approaches. Ensure complete understanding of the development estimate and project scope. Understand the technical complexities of multi-tiered solutions and ensure the appropriate design solutions are achieved.
Oversee the delivery of Stratus projects to ensure implementation and deployment matches client expectations. Coordinate with the client and the development team to establish clear milestones and goals. Create and execute plans, revising as necessary to meet the demands of the project.
Act as the escalation path for the technical team regarding project issues.
Work with accounting team to provide financial reporting and accountability for projects and project profitability. Work with PMO to provide pipeline / revenue forecasts as well as staffing projections and planning. Provide routine status reports detailing progress, issues, risks and mitigation plans.
Interface with the client as necessary and present innovations, issues and risks; apply significant knowledge of technologies and innovations in order to continually develop the client relationship.
Act as liaison between other Status departments (Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Service) and technical team members. Effectively communicate issues, risks and dependencies with project stakeholders, escalating where appropriate.
Leverage cross-project expertise to ensure project teams provide optimal client solutions.
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
At least 7+ years of experience leading technical teams to complete quality projects on time.
At least 3+ years of successful project leadership experience. Structured project methodology experience including estimating, scope management, budget management, time management, risk management, change management, issue/conflict resolution, communication management, quality management, team management.
Experience working in a managed or professional services environment.
Very strong technical knowledge.
Ability to quickly understand a client?s business strategy and their business processes, and to develop technical solutions to support their needs.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
Excellent presentation skills and strong negotiation skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated initiative and proactive sense of urgency in resolving problems and preventing recurrence. Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans.
Strong coaching experience, coupled with the ability and willingness to take a hands-on approach to evaluate and / or create deliverables.
Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook.
