TokBox is looking for an experienced candidate to drive endpoint strategy and the core API for the OpenTok platform. The successful candidate will inherit two families of OpenTok clients ? WebRTC-based and Flash-based ? and help grow OpenTok into a communications grade platform available on all relevant endpoints where communication can exist. This is a high-visibility role within the organization with broad external and internal impact.
We are looking for a strong technical product manager with a track record of developing libraries to help developers solve hard problems quickly and easily. Position title will be commensurate with candidate?s experience and qualifications.
Drive the prioritization, specification and delivery of the core OpenTok API.
Strategize, ideate and drive the execution of the road map for all OpenTok clients.
Manage the family of OpenTok clients, defining product requirements across web, iOS, and Android endpoints, as well as understanding how the OpenTok clients fit into a post-WebRTC world.
Expand the feature set of the OpenTok WebRTC clients, driven by partner feedback, industry trends, and usage data across web, iOS, and Android endpoints.
Understand emerging endpoints for face-to-face video, and lead the OpenTok platform onto these endpoints.
Champion an agile development process with engineering.
Engage with the business development team to understand real-world use cases and deliver APIs and client support to address those use cases.
Deliver metrics-driven goals and updates to the management team.
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent field/business experience required.
3+ years in platform-centric technical product management.
Proven track record product managing APIs.
Customer-centric focus and ability to work with technical customers.
Proven track record of applying data-driven analytical skills to generate team momentum behind a road map.
Experience and ability to thrive and wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A demonstrated strong passion for solving big problems.
Proven hands-on experience developing commercial or open source software.
Track record contributing to an an open source project.
Location / Reporting
Located in San Francisco.
Reports to the Head of OpenTok Product Management.
