Vice President, Corporate Business Development & Investor Relations

The VP of Corporate Business Development & Investor Relations will be a key player in driving ServiceSource?s 3-5 year strategy and communicating it to the investment community. Applying structured analysis and deep industry knowledge coupled with proactive and creative deal sourcing, they will evaluate our market opportunity and key industry trends, lead the development of a 3-year strategic plan, and develop & execute our strategy for industry partnerships & acquisitions. Additionally, drawing on their market expertise, this executive will also own the company?s Investor Relations strategy & relationships. This unique role will provide the successful candidate with a spectacular platform to demonstrate & share their perspective on the SaaS, recurring revenue and managed services markets while providing him/her with the opportunity to significantly impact ServiceSource?s role in these evolving industries.
Lead the executive team through the development of a 3-year strategic plan with linkages across the company to 1-year plans and quarterly goals.
Drive our approach to market analysis and how ServiceSource ultimately buys, builds or partners in order to execute our overall business strategy.
Evaluate and execute a near and long-term strategy focused on key partnerships and alliances within the SaaS and service revenue markets
Own the effective communication of our strategy to the investment community.
The VP of Corporate Development & Investor Relations will have overall responsibility for sourcing, evaluating and executing transactions that align with our strategic roadmap & contribute to the company?s top and bottom-line growth. Developing strong collaborative relationships with the executive team and cross-functional groups including Marketing, Products, Finance and Legal will be critical to their success.
Participate in the short and long term corporate strategic planning process
Develop deep intelligence and business model expertise within the SaaS industry
Lead and execute investor relations strategy
Assist with / facilitate executive strategy discussions
Constantly gather intelligence and information on the industry to inform, educate and coach the senior leadership regarding the near-term and long-term dynamics of the marketplace, providing insight on the potential impact of these market forces on the company?s business success
Work closely with the executive team and business unit leaders to develop a comprehensive strategic framework that will likely include acquisitions and partnerships
Prepare detailed business cases and recommendations to the executive team and Board of Directors
Lead deal execution, including: research of targets, strategic and financial assessment, transaction structuring, negotiation, due diligence & integration
Validate and communicate ServiceSource?s long term strategy externally while providing the color and context that helps the analysts see beyond the numbers
Manage a small team of strong individual contributors in investor relations, strategy and corporate business development.
Establish, maintain and nurture relationships of trust, confidence and credibility with the investment community.
Serve as the ?go to? person for investors and analysts seeking information on ServiceSource & perspective on the broader market
Desired Skills & Experience
MBA, JD or other relevant advanced degree
Deep experience in the software / SaaS space and thorough understanding of competitive landscape and global business environment
Experience managing Strategy, Corporate Development and/or Investor Relations efforts in the software industry
10+ years of professional experience including participation in Bus Dev/M&A transactions at a senior level, strategic consulting, investment banking, private equity or corporate development environments
Expertise in developing business and investment cases, financial analysis / modeling and understanding of legal agreements
Proven experience analyzing and presenting all relevant market, industry, and company factors to support our business strategy
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the experience and ability to effectively influence at all levels both internally and externally
Ability to contribute to high level strategy in addition to being a master of details and process when needed
Track record of success in a fast-paced and extremely dynamic environment with ability to be self-sufficient, proactive and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
Experience working in a global or multi-national business
