As a key member of the executive team, the VP, Marketing will report directly to the company?s founder & CEO, Jud Bowman. The candidate will bring to the team solid experience in brand building, outbound marketing strategies, product marketing and marketing analytics. Ideally the candidate will have contributed in the recent past to the success of a leading mobile or internet technology company where s/he developed the key skills to be successful in this role:
A creative/visionary approach to defining and executing innovative marketing solutions that maximize brand awareness.
Hands-on expertise in delivering successful lead generation programs that drive profitability and increase market share.
Expertise in delivering solution-oriented sales materials and tools.
In-depth analytical acumen to constantly manage and measure performance.
This role requires an executive that is a highly respected marketing guru; someone that can bring both the strategic vision of how to build the Appia brand, but also the analytical mindset to understand and capitalize on the phenomenal growth the company is experiencing today.
Previous experience serving as the VP Marketing at a mobile or internet technology-based company. Ideally the candidate will have practical experience within the mobile advertising ecosystem.
A 10+ year career track with progressively responsible marketing roles - expertise in managing all facets of corporate marketing - branding, lead generation, sales support, PR, digital/social media buzz, and real world events.
Comfortable moving between the strategic and tactical nature of the role - personally interested in everything from defining the global marketing strategy for Board approval to the brass tacks required to strengthen a company?s digital presence or launch a successful partner development program.
Strong foundation in the tactics to build and manage a high-volume sales pipeline - real world proof of marketing campaigns and programs that drove awareness that turned into revenue.
An abundant library of product marketing materials focused on training and supporting the sales team in delivering revenue to the company.
The respect and admiration of former colleagues - in particular, recognition for efforts to partner with and support the entire company.
Success building, retaining and leading a small, lean and respected marketing team.
Experience identifying and managing key agency/creative resources - everything from PR to graphic design.
Educational background in marketing/communications, plus an MBA qualification is highly desirable.

Excellent interpersonal skills to build the strong relationships for success both inside and outside of Appia.
